Trip Overview
Located in the heart of Annapurna massif, Singu Chuli peak climbing (6501m) is a wonderful sensation for any enthusiastic climbers to satisfy their lust for peak climbing in Nepal. Though the peak is not very towering as compared to other highest mountains in the Annapurna region of Nepal. But the allure of Singu Chuli peak is nothing less compare to other popular peaks present in that region. Singu Chuli peak is also referred to as the Fluted peak. In fact, it is the third highest mountains amongst the trekking peaks in the Annapurna region of Nepal.
Furthermore, the peak offers some splendid views of mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Tharpu Chuli, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Macchapucchre and many more. Singu Chuli peak climbing offers an opportunity to walk into the trail of Annapurna Base camp. Hence, it lets you relish the glory of mountains in Annapurna Sanctuary. There you can also see the picturesque view of Pokhara, ethnic settlements, biodiversity and cultural diversity. Besides that, the people in the Annapurna region is also another appealing aspect of Singu Chuli peak climbing.
Wilfred Noyce with David Cox were the pioneers to successfully climb up the peak of Singu Chuli. While they experienced the beauty of the place from the top, they compared the beauty of Singu Chuli with the peak of Nanda Devi in India. The peak of Singu Chuli rises within the Annapurna Sanctuary with Tharpu Chuli as its neighboring peak. Singu Chuli peak climbing starts from the foothill of Annapurna and follows a trail that leads us to the Annapurna Base Camp. From the Annapurna Base Camp, the trail diverges to Singu Chuli Base Camp via the Modi Khola. From the Singu Chuli Base Camp, we ascend up to the high camp and finally conquer the summit of the peak.
Singu Chuli peak climbing is a bit technical and prior experience is highly recommended. However, the climbing leader will train you on the climbing lessons. The main difficulty to climb up the peak is its vertical walls. The climb up the peak is very steep and sloppy. Therefore, you need to be very smooth with the use of ropes, crampons and ice axes. Besides, Singu Chuli peak climbing is a wonderful mix of nature, mountains, people, culture and natural wonders.
