Trip Overview

Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek can be the most adventurous and challenging trek in a remote region of Nepal. It is a fabulous way to experience Nepal with a mixture of nature and culture in abundance. Dhaulagiri Trek is truly an adventurous trek that requires an ability to deal with the unexpected. And also it can be an immensely rewarding opportunity to experience the magnificence of massive Dhaulagiri ranges all at once.

Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek starts from Beni on the Kali Gandaki River. Kali Gandaki river ascends to the beautiful, unspoiled valley of Myagdi Khola. This river flows southwards from the heart of the Dhaulagiri Himal. The ever-changing landscape and pleasant villages to Dhaulagiri Base camp make this trek even more interesting. The challenge of crossing Mountain passes i.e. French pass (5360 meters) and Thapa Pass (5200 meters) and a walk on an icy track is indeed a thrilling experience. The mountain views on the ascent and descent of this route are simply beautiful. The beautiful rhododendron forests, deciduous oak trees, and junipers will keep your spirits up the whole time.

Exploring the hidden valley, crossing the Dhampus Pass, and making a long descent to Marpha in the Kali Gandaki Valley add to the joy of this trek. This trek can also be an opportunity to explore the local lifestyles of Gurung, Magar, and other community people with their culture.
