The Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging and exciting trekking experience. It takes you to the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The trek is known for its spectacular views of the Himalayan mountain range, unique cultural experiences, and diverse landscapes.
Your trekking adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jiri. Jiri is a beautiful town surrounded by lush forests and traditional Sherpa and Rai settlements. From there, you’ll embark on a challenging trek through beautiful villages, steep valleys, and dense forests.
As you trek higher, you’ll encounter stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range. You’ll see Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The trek culminates at the Everest Base Camp, where you can witness the grandeur of the mountain up close.

Itinerary
You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last minute preparation for your trek if necessary.
Today, we leave Kathmandu and head north east of Kathmandu to Jiri. After 6-7 hours of journey through mountain roads and lush landscape, we will reach Jiri. From Jiri, we further drive to Bhandar which is our starting point of Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek. On the finishing line of your ride, you can enjoy the panoramic views of mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and Dorje Lakpa. We stay at a guesthouse in Bhandar for the night.
From Bhandar, our trail drops down to Likhu Khola. We cross the river and continue walking to Kenja. Here, we make a long and steep climb to Lamjura pass and walk towards Sete. We also pass the abandoned gompa at an elevation of 2575 meters. Leaving gompa, we head towards the village area that is inhabited mostly by Sherpa people. We stay at a guesthouse in Sete for the night.
Moving ahead from the Sete village, we climb up gradually until we reach Lamjura la pass at an elevation of 3530metres. We will be rewarded with the beautiful views of snow and rhododendron forests from the pass. From here, we descend down to Tragdobuk and then continue to a beautiful Sherpa village of Junbesi. Today, we stay at a guesthouse in Junbesi for the night.
We climb up a ridge at an elevation of 3080m. From the top, we can get the first glimpse of Everest. We walk to Junbesi from where our trail goes up Phaplu. At Phaplu, we pass a hospital and airstrip to thead quarter and market at Salleri. As we leave Salung, we descend down to the Ringmo Khola and climb up to Trakshindo pass at an elevation of 3071 meters. From here, our trail further descends down and pass a monastery to Nuntala. We stay at guesthouse in Nuntala for the night.
Today, we take a path that descends down to Dudh Koshi. As we leave the river, our trail ascends up through several Sherpa villages. We pass terraced fields and forests until we arrive at Khari Khola. We stay at a guesthouse in Khari Khola for night.
From Khari khola, we ascend up to Puiyan through several Sherpa villages and a forest. As we pass the forest, we can encounter some wildlife mostly monkeys. We pass through a narrow canyon and walk a little further to arrive at Puiyan. We stay at a guesthouse in Puiyan for the night.
Today, we climb up from Puiyan to a ridge on an elevation of 2800 meters and then to another ridge from where we descend down to Surke. We follow an easy and paved path that will lead us to the village of Phakding. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Phakding.
Today, we head to one of the happening towns in the Everest region – Namche Bazaar. At first we pass village of Jorsale and enter the Sagarmatha National park. The backdrop of the beautiful mountains in Everest region, mani stone and carved walls with prayers, everything during our trek is simply outstanding. You will pass some not so pleasing trail on the way, however, the unique flora and fauna along with the excitement of crossing long suspension bridge in the way will keep you alive. Overnight stay at Namche.
Today, we spend our day in Namche itself as this day is set aside for acclimatization. Marching forward without proper acclimatization may lead to altitude sickness. Therefore, today, we wander around the joyful village of Namche and hike up to Everest View Hotel with Synagboche Arport on the way. The views of the mountains from Everest View Hotel is fabulous. You can enjoy your sip of tea or coffee enjoying the awesome views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Thamserku, etc. The museum and photo gallery on our way back is also another attraction of the day. Overnight stay at Namche.
We live the lively village of Namche and move ahead following our trail. The trail undulates up and down through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche. The views of the mountains along our way to Tengboche is awesome. Tengboche is a view point that offers close up views of mountains in Everest region. More than this, Tengboche is a popular spiritual center that possesses a popular monastery known as Tengboche monastery. We visit the monastery and enjoy the views of mountains from the monastery. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tengboche.
Admiring the beauty from Tengboche, we head to Dingboche today. We cross a suspension bridge over Imja Khola and ascend to Pangboche that lies between beautiful Mani stones. We further climb up to the vibrant and charming Sherpa settlement of Dingboche. Dingboche is a popular summer valley at the high altitude region that bestows stunning views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Island Peak. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.
As we reach Dingboche, we spend an extra day here for acclimatization purpose. We can wander around the valley or hike up to Nagerjun. Hike up to Nagerjun is best recommended for acclimatization. Though you need some rest, hiking up will add to your journey further. Today, we hike up a hill that lies on edge of Chhukung valley. The walk is steep and strenuous but the panoramic views of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, Taboche Peak, Thamserku and Ama Dablam from the top is outstanding. On a clear day, you can get some stunning views of Makalu too. After this steep climb up, we descend down slowly to Dingboche in the evening for overnight stay. We stay at a guesthouse in Nagerjun for the night.
Today, we leave Dingboche and continue along the trail to the wide valley to Dughla. On the way, we pass the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche which is regulated by Western volunteer doctors and assisted by the Himalayan Rescue Association. It offers necessary treatments to trekkers. We pass rock-strewn slants on the way and climb up to Chupki Lhara with stunning views of mountains. We can see the apex of Chupki Lhara adorned with prayer flags and Mani stones. We further walk down to the Khumbu Glacier moraine for scenic views of Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren, and Pumori. From here, we continue walking until we reach Lobuche. We stay at a guesthouse in Lobuche for the night.
Today, we head to our ultimate destination – The Everest Base Camp. We march slowly from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Goreshep. We can see some colourful prayer flags and stones piled up as we reach the Everest Base Camp. The moment in Everest Base camp can be one of the best feeling you have ever had and you will ever have. Rejoice your time in the Base Camp. Overnight halt near the Everest Base Camp.
Today is yet another beautiful day that you will rejoice for ever and ever. We hike up to Kalapattar for the close up views of the mountains in the Everest region. The golden rays of the sun glittering in the White Mountain snow, you would surely wish for the time to freeze there, at that moment. The awesome views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam and many more standing tall one after the other, you couldn’t have asked for anything more. After the beautiful hike up to Kalapatthar, we descend down to Pheriche via Gorekshep. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Pheriche.
Today, we retrace our footsteps back from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. We walk through same ups and downs, through the same rhododendron and pine forests to the buzzling town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Today, we leave Namche and stroll down through the same well paved path to Lukla. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Today, we head back to the capital city – Kathmandu, the place from where we started our journey. Overnight in the hotel.
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. Overnight in the hotel.
Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
