Trip Overview

Huinchuli Peak is a famous peak climbing destination for most climbers. It lies near the south Annapurna base camp which rises to the heights of 6441 meters above sea level. A charm for all the enthusiastic peak climbers and thrill seekers. Even though climbing is not as technical as other peak climbing in Nepal but there are a few challenges one may have to face. The main challenge of this peak is the rock falls which can be quite a handful for new climbers. Most of the time heavy rock block the route which makes following the trail more difficult. Huinchuli peak is full of Natural glories and adventures.

The trail to the Huinchuli base camp starts from the Annapurna Conservation Area, a preserved section of the Annapurna region in Nepal. Annapurna conservation area is full of rare species of flora and fauna. So while making a journey to the Huinchuli Base Camp you can also get close to nature too. An American Peace Corps expedition team was able to successfully pioneer the peak in October 1971 via the southeast face of the peak in Nepal. Hence, Huinculi peak climbing is a pleasing journey through various forms of nature in abundance.

Moreover, you pass through the lush farmlands, spectacular mountains, valleys, forests, sparkling rivers, and wildlife in Nepal. Huinchuli Peak is rarely attempted peak as there is the possibility of getting lost on the way due to rock falls. But you will not need o to worry about getting as the route will be led by the professional expedition leader. They will take you up to the peak. Then again the guide and the professional team leader are well aware of the climbing route and also well trained for unforeseen circumstances. Similarly, the change in weather is also another aspect that can make the expedition even more difficult. Besides these obstacles, the journey to the Huinchuli base camp is worth every hard work.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu, you will be picked up by our representative and transferred to a hotel for check-in. You will be informed about your plans ahead. For rest of the day, enjoy your time at the hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
After breakfast, your sightseeing guide will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to the UNESCO-listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. At first, you will be escorted to Kathmandu Durbar square, a beautiful Malla palace that lies in the heart of Kathmandu city. The palace is magnificently built and is surrounded by plenty of old and artistic temples. After the palace, you will be transferred to Swayambhunath stupa which is also regarded as the monkey temple. After the climb up through long stairs, you reach the top of the stupa from where you can get a sight of the whole Kathmandu valley. Next, you will be transferred to Pashupatinath temple which is an old temple that holds a high value amongst the Hindu pilgrims. After exploring the temple, you can enjoy an evening coffee as you sit beside the Boudhanath stupa relishing its magnificent sight. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 3: Fly to Pokhara, drive to Nayapul and then trek to Tikhedhunga
Today we take an early flight to the picturesque city of Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful city that attracts a lot of tourists yearly. As soon as we land in the airport of Pokhara, we take a ride that will take us to Nayapul, the initiation point of our trekking journey. From Nayapul, we walk along the foothills of Annapurna and pass farmlands and villages to Tikhedhunga. We stop at a guesthouse in Tikhedhunga for the night.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani
Leaving Tikhedhunga, we head towards Ghorepani. We ascend up through the stoned paved staircases and pass suspension bridges over the stream to Ghorepani. On the way, we pass few ethnic villages, cultivated farmlands and pastures to Ghorepani. As we reach Ghorepani, we can see the vistas of Annapurna bestow right before us. The white glittering snowcapped mountains and lush landscape is a perfect combination of nature to spend your night at. The views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt Hinchuli, Mt. Nilgiri and Mt. Tukuche look absolutely stunning. Overnight at a guesthouse in Ghorepani
Day 5: Trek to Tadapani
Today we wake up early to catch the views of sunrise amidst the Annapurna ranges. We walk up to Poonhill to revitalize ourselves with the magnificent views of golden sun rays over the white glittering mountains. After having enough of the view, we descend back via Ghorepani to Tadapani. Our walk down to Tadapani is pleasant along the lush and picturesque nature with the views of mountains on sight. We spend our night at a guesthouse in Tadapani.
Day 6: Trek to Chomorong
Leaving Tadapani, we descend down along the lush rhododendron forests to the village of Chomorong. For most of the day, we will find ourselves walking amidst the cool and dense forests of rhododendron until we open up to the charming village of Chomorong. Chomorong is a lively village inhabited by the people of Gurung community. As you pass the village, you can get some insights on Gurung people, their culture, tradition and lifestyle. For the night, we stay at a guesthouse in Chomorong.
Day 7: Trek to Bamboo
Today, we start our day with a walk down to the Chomorong Khola. We walk along the river bank for a while and ascend up to ACAP check post at Khudighar. We pass the check post and continue our walk through the trail to Annapurna Base Camp. After leaving the check post, our trail descends down through the forests to Bamboo. Day 8: Trek to Deurali
From Bamboo, we continue our walk through the shades of bamboo trees to Deurali which is our target station for the day. We slowly ascend up through the rhododendron forests and pass Hotel Himalaya to Hinko. We further climb up at ridge and open up to a place popular as Deurali. We stop at a guesthouse in Deurali for the night.
Day 9: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
Today is a wonderful day as we will be at the base camp of Annapurna. Leaving Deurali, we continue up through our trail that will lead us to the Annapurna Base Camp. Annapurna Base Camp is often regarded as the pursuance of every travel lover. From the base camp, you can have a close of views of mountains in Annapurna that includes Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Machhapucchre, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt Hinchuli, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Tukuche and many more. Today, we spend our night in the backdrop of the beautiful mountains in Annapurna at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna South Base Camp
Hiunchuli peak climbing doesn’t just end at the base camp of Annapurna but goes a little further than it. Therefore, we focus on our mission and take a path that will lead us to the southern base camp of Annapurna. We enjoy our walk to the Annapurna South Base Camp with the gorgeous views of Annapurna massif on sight. As we reach the Southern base camp, we stop there for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Trek to Hiunchuli High Camp
Leaving Annapurna South Base Camp, we head towards the Hiunchuli High Camp for our expedition journey. Our expedition leader will escort us for our journey ahead. For the rest of the day and night, we stay at the Hiunchuli High Camp just to ensure ourselves with enough acclimatization for our journey ahead.
Day 12: Ascend to Hiunchuli Camp I
Today, we move towards the Hiunchuli Camp I which is a bit higher to the High Camp. We walk up slowly and peacefully just to ensure that we do not over exhilarate ourselves and warm up for the climb up to the summit. We spend rest of our day and night at a tented camp in Hiunchuli Camp I.
Day 13: Ascend to Hiunchuli Camp II
Today, we take a step forward to our climbing journey. We ascend up to the Hiunchuli Camp II which is just a step to the climbing of summit. We stop at the base point from where the actual climb up the summit starts. We spend rest of our day and night at a tented camp in Hiunchuli Camp II.
Day 14: Ascend to summit of Hiunchuli peak
Today is the most important day of our journey as we will conquer the peak of Hiunchuli which is considered as one of the toughest peak for climbing amongst the peak that rises above seven thousands. We start our climb early so as to avoid the harsh weather in the afternoon. As we climb up the peak, we will be showered with the wonderful close of views of mountains in the Annapurna region. After climbing up the peak, we descend down to the Hiunchuli Camp I for the night.
Day 15: Descend to Annapurna South Base Camp
After achieving the summit of the Hiunchuli peak, we descend down to the Annapurna South Base Camp with the joy of accomplishing our mission. We will be blessed with the reviving views of mountains on our return journey as well. We stay at a guesthouse in Annapurna South Base Camp for the night.
Day 16: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
Today, we will be headed to Annapurna Base Camp. We retrace our steps back from the southern base camp of Annapurna that will bring us back to the Annapurna Base Camp. From the base camp, we can relish the glory of Annapurna massif once again. Today, we spend our night at a guesthouse in Annapurna Base Camp which would be a remarkable experience that any other.
Day 17: Trek to Dovan
Leaving Base Camp, we retrace our footsteps back to Dovan via same route through same path surrounded by the dense rhododendron forests and Bamboo trees. Upon arrival, we stay at a guesthouse in Dovan for the night.
Day 18: Trek to Jhinu Danda
Leaving Dovan, we retrace our steps back to the village of Chomorong. From the village, we descend down via same route through bamboo and rhododendron forests to JhinuDanda, At JhinuDanda, we can see the natural hot springs where we can enjoy hot water bath to soothe our senses. Overnight at a guesthouse in JhinuDanda
Day 19: Trek to Pothana
From JhinuDanda, we embark our journey to Pothana. Pothana is a beautiful place that offers the views of lush hills, forests and mountains in abundance. From the top of a hill at Pothana, we can enjoy some reviving views of mountains, hills and nature with a cool breeze that flows to and forth. Overnight at a guesthouse in Pothana
Day 20: Trek to DhampusPhedi
Early in the morning, we wake up for the beautiful views of sunrise from Pothana. After having enough of the views, we descend down via a charming path around to Dhampus. Dhampus is a beautiful village inhabited by people of different ethnic groups. The people of the village are popular for the hostile behavior they show. We continue our walk down until we reach DhampusPhedi. We pend our night at a guesthouse in DhampusPhedi.
Day 21: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu
We take an early flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. In around half an hour you will land in the Kathmandu airport. You will be transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu next. Enjoy your time at the hotel for rest of the day.
Day 22: Leisure day in Kathmandu
A free day in Kathmandu. It is set aside so as to allow you to take a day rest after such a long and exhilarating journey. You can also shop around Kathmandu if you think rest isn’t necessary. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 23: Farewell
Today is your last day of your peak climbing journey in Nepal. You will be escorted to the Kathmandu airport for your journey ahead.
