Which is the world’s best trekking zone in the world? If a survey is done on this topic, the Everest region would obviously hit the charts! Owning to the pride of being home to the world’s highest peak – Mt. Everest, Everest region is amongst the bucket list of many fellow travelers and mountain lovers. Blessed with the wilderness of mountains, mountainous landscape, alpine natural glory and authentic Buddhism religion and Sherpa culture, the Everest region is a heavenly place to be at. The world’s best adventures are possible in the wild and gorgeous terrain of the Everest region. The region has some of the greatest locations that would make you alive. #Lukla Airport

Lukla at an elevation of 2860 meters lies in the Khumbu region of Solukhumbu district. It is a small settlement area that lies in the base of the Mt. Everest. With a small airport, the area mostly comprises of few teahouses, lodges, restaurants, and cafés. Lukla serves as the gateway to the Everest region so most of the tourists visit this place. The airport is also considered as one of the dangerous airports with a small runway. Many people find the flight to Lukla an enthralling and exciting experience. The airport was built in mid-’60s under the supervision of Sir Edmund Hilary, the first person to climb Everest with his co-partner Tenzing Norway. The Lukla airport is also known as Tenzing- Hillary airport and the name comes after the pioneers to climb Everest.

#Sagarmatha National Park

Also recognized as the UNESCO world heritage sites, Sagarmatha National Park is a park that comprises of many towering mountains, mountainous terrain, rugged paths, gorges, massive rock formations, pastures, glaciers, icefalls, Sherpa villages, and many more. It is home to the world’s highest mountain – Mt. Everest and many other mountains like Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Thamserku and many more. The entire area of the park lies above the elevation of 3000 meters and is enriched with various species of floras and faunas. More than 118 species of birds have been noticed here. The forests in the park consist of rhododendron, fir, birch and juniper trees which are inhabited by wildlife like Himalayan Thar, Ghoral, Sorrow, Wolf, Himalayan Black Bear, etc. Some endangered species like snow leopard, red panda, and dazzling pheasants have been noticed in these areas.

#Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar is an interesting village in the Everest region that showcases the Sherpa people, their culture, tradition, and lifestyle. It is a lively town in the region that comprises houses, guesthouses, lodges, shops, cyber cafes and many more. It is the only gateway to Everest Base Camp. The narrow streets of this village are always crowded with tourists, locals, traders, and dzopkyos hauled up with loads of goods.  The town has almost everything. If you need anything that you forgot to pick up earlier, you can get it here at the shops in Namche. Apart from these, the village is known for the authentic Sherpa culture, tradition and lifestyle. Everest View Hotel is a grand hotel in the village that acts as a viewpoint in the region. The hotel offers some close-up views of mountains in Everest region like Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Tawache and many more.

#Tengboche Monastery

Tengboche monastery is a popular monastery that lies on the way to Everest Base Camp at Tengboche. It is known for its stunning location in the backdrop of the great Mt. Ama Dablam. The monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centers in the Khumbu region of Nepal. A residing Rinpoche (priest) blesses all the pilgrims, travelers and the passengers who visit this monastery. A popular and colorful festival called Mani Rimbu Festival is celebrated in this monastery every year which is a delight for all the travelers who visit this monastery during that time.

#Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp refers to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain – the mighty Mt. Everest. It has two sides i.e. South base camp that lies in Nepal at an elevation of 5364 meters and north base camp that lies in Tibet at an elevation of 5150 meters. The south base camp in Nepal side is more popular for trekking purposes. Everest Base Camp is a dream of many trekkers and mountain lovers around the globe.
