Located in between Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area, the Ganesh Himal region is a treasure of geographical, cultural, and biological diversity. Owning to its off beaten natured trail, Ganesh Himal Trek takes you to one of the less explored sections of Nepalese Himalayas that traverses through lush hills, valleys, forests and alpine meadows.  The name Ganesh comes after the name of an elephant-headed Hindu deity – Lord Ganesha who is regarded as the god of fortune. Ganesh Himal has four main peaks which are popular as Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, and Ganesh IV. During the journey of Ganesh Himal Trek, one will be rewarded with some majestic views of Ganesh Himal almost all the time.

Blessed with biological diversity, the region is home to various species of floras, faunas, birds, and butterflies. Many medicinal herbs and colorful wildflowers have been noticed in this area. Likewise, more than 200 species of birds have been observed here. Besides, the dense and untouched forests of the region preserve many wild species in their natural habitat. The Ganesh Himal region is also a mining area for rubies and crystals. Being a remote region, the mineral ores and natural resources here are completely untouched and unutilized. Also, the region has been able to preserve its treasures to date.

Ganesh Himal Trek starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Betrawati. From here, we follow a trail that passes various ethnic settlements, farmlands, villages, forests and alpine meadows to Shingla pass. The pass offers some spectacles of mountains in Ganesh Himal ranges. The trail to Shingla pass traverses through various Tamang villages hence Ganesh Himal Trek is an opportunity to get some insights on Tamang people, their culture, tradition, and lifestyle. Ganesh Himal Trek ends with a walk back to Kintang Phedi via Tamang villages like Jharlang and Borang. Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Himal Eco Treks will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last-minute preparation for your trek if necessary. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu
Day 3: Drive to Betrawati
Early in the morning, we prepare for our drive to Betrawati. We jump on our drive that will take us through a scenic highway road towards Trishuli bazaar. With wonderful views of a countryside landscape, hills, farmlands, and mountains on the way, we reach Betrawati. We stay at tented camps in Betrawati for the night
Day 4: Trek to Kipsang
Leaving Betrawati, we start our walk through an easy and gentle trail. The trail passes through various terraced farmlands, crop fields and local villages on the way to Kipsang. Kipsang is a charming village inhabited by Tamang people in the region. They are traditional people who depend upon farming for livelihood. If interested, we can interact with a few local folks on the way. We stay at tented camps in Kipsang for the night
Day 5: Trek to Thulo Chaur
Today, we leave the village of Kipsang and ascend up slowly through the local village inhabited by Tamang people. Exploring their rural lifestyle and local culture, we walk pass the schools, monasteries, and waterfalls on the way to Thulo Chaur. We set up our tented camps on the ground of Thulo Chaur for the night
Day 6: Trek to Gonga
Today, after breakfast, we ascend up steeply through the dense forests of pine and rhododendron. The jungle that we pass today is full of wildlife in it. Various species of wildlife like deer. langur monkey, wild boar, etc has been noticed in this region. We pass through these forests enriched with wild species and climb up to Gonga. We stay at tented camps in Gonga for the night
Day 7: Trek to Rupchet
From the Gonga, we follow a trail that climbs up steeply through the dense forests of rhododendron and oak with spectacular views of mountains on sight. The walk for the day is delightful with some breathtaking views of mountains in the great Himalayan chain and Tibetan range. We stay at tented camps in Rupchet for the night
Day 8: Trek to Kharka via Shingla Pass
After breakfast in Rupchet, we climb up steep towards Shing La pass. It’s a tiring walk up to the pass but the walk is really worth it. From the top, one can enjoy some stunning views of mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Manaslu Himal and many other mountains in the backdrop. After relishing some reviving views of mountains from the top, we descend down steep to the Kharka. We set up our tented camps in Kharka for the night
Day 9: Trek to Borang
The journey for the day goes steep down through the terraced farmlands and few isolated villages to the village of Borang. Borang is a beautiful Tamang village that offers some majestic views of mountains. Today, we set up our tented camps in the village of Borang for the night.
Day 10: Trek to Jharlang
From Borang, we walk across the terraced farmlands on a flat trail to the village of Jharlang. On the way, we pass various villages inhabited by people from Tamang communities. It’s a wonderful day walk along with the lush and pristine environment to Jharlang. It’s also an opportunity to know about people, their culture and lifestyle. Today, we set up our tented camps in the village of Jharlang for the night.
Day 11: Trek to Kintang Phedi
We take a sharp descend down through the traditional and local villages to Kintang Phedi. It’s a jovial day walk along with the lush countryside landscapes with stunning views of mountains accompanying you throughout the way. Tonight at the tented camps in Kintang Phedi
Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu
Leaving Kintang Phedi, we take a drive back to the capital city of Kathmandu. The lush and alluring countryside landscapes will keep you engaged throughout the journey. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu
Day 13: Leisure day in Kathmandu
It’s an extra day in Kathmandu city. you can utilize the day on your own. If you want to go to some specific places, you can inform us or you can walk around the streets of Kathmandu for shopping activities. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu
Day 14: Departure Day
Finally, it is time for us to bid you goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
