Trip Overview

Inspiring Journey to Holy Mt. Kailash, an amazing mountain at an elevation of 6,714m lies within the South West Tibet. The Nagari vast Flatland is more inside of the Himalayan range. The most wonderful thing is that majestic mountain Mount Kailash originates four river systems. The Indus, Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra), the Karnali and the Sutlej are the four rivers in four river system.

Other than that, it is also the holy and spiritual center for four great religions. For instance, Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, the Jain religion and the Pre- Buddhist religion also known as Bon Po religion are the four great religion practiced in this area. For Tibetans, it is a special pilgrims place as the poet, saint and tantric Guru Milepera meditate there. Similarly, for Hindus, Mount Kailash is their spiritual center of the universe. Since the most cherished God Shiva lives in the top of the mountain.

The journey starts with a scenic flight to Nepalgunj the South West of Nepal. Another flight to Simikot from Nepalgunj starts the holy expedition towards Mount Kailash. Or else you can also enjoy the trek to Simiktot from Nepalgunj. Hiking and passing through the high hills and rural farm villages to Hilsa, a border village near to South Western Tibet. And after a short hike up towards Sher, the entry post of Tibet.

From Sher, we officially enter Tibet. There we meet our Tibet guide and vehicle for the drive to Darchen town. In Darchen we can opt for the spiritual walk around “Kora”. Lastly, with Kora (Parikrama) the high pass of Dolma-la at 5,470m /18,525ft ends this fabulous trip with a drive to Nepal. Drive back to Nepal is full of the scenichig highway.
