Annapurna Round Trek and Thorang La Pass start from the foothills of Annapurna. And it goes up to 5416 meters altitude at Thorang La Pass. The trekking journey of Annapurna Round Trek and Thorang La Pass starts at Nyagdi after a few hours’ drive from Kathmandu. You pass villages like Chamje, Bagarchaap, Chame, and Pisang and open up to the spectacular valley of Manang. Manang is a beautiful valley with the most generous people on earth. Leaving Manang, you head to Thorong La pass via Yak Kharka and Muktinath. You get to see the beautiful views of mountains from the past. After that, you head to Marpha valley. From Marpha, you take a route to Ghorepani and Poon hill and wrap up your journey at Nayapul. In this way, you encircle the Annapurna range therefore this journey is also famous as the Annapurna circuit trek. So, get ready to walk along paddy fields, sub-tropical forest, amazing waterfalls, colossal cliffs, and several villages to Annapurna massif.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport
You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspects of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last-minute preparation for your trek if necessary.
Day 3: Drive to Nyagdi
Today, we drive to Nyagdi which would be our trekking starting point. Our drive to Nyagdi would be a scenic one. The view of the countryside, beautiful landscape along with lush and beautiful environment would be our attraction for today. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Nyagdi.
Day 4: Trek to Chamje(1700m)
Today, we initiate our trekking journey and walk towards our destination for the day – Chamje. Our trail climbs up as we head to Chamje. A beautiful waterfall on the way and a suspension bridge over the Marsyandi river are the major attractions of the day.
Day 5: Trek to Bagarchaap(2120m)
Today, we follow the Marsyandi river and take our trail up to Tal. Our trail for the day is quite rocky. We cross a valley and continue our walk until we reach Dharapani. We stop at a guesthouse in Bagarchaap for an overnight halt.
Day 6: Trek to Chame(2670m)
Today, our trail climbs up to the heights of 2630m to Chame. From Bagarchap, we climb up and pass the forest to Chame. Chame is the headquarter of the Manang district which is well known for its stunning views of the Annapurna panorama.
Day 7: Trek to Pisang(3300m)
Our trekking journey for today starts will a walk through the forest. On our way, we cross two bridges after which we catch a glimpse of a rock flank. The rock flanks are actually of Paungda Danda. From this point, we further continue our journey to Pisang which is our halting point for today. Enjoy your dinner at a guesthouse in Pisang.
Day 8: Trek to Manang
Have you heard about the beautiful Manang valley? Yes! It’s our destination for today. We start our walk from Pisang, and pass the yak herds and some settlements to the beautiful Manang valley. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Manang valley.
Day 9: Acclimatization at Manang valley
Today is our free day in Manang valley set aside for acclimatization. You can wander around the villages and capture a glimpse of mountains. Also, you can get some insights into the lifestyle and culture of the people in this region. The ethnic people living in this region are extremely warm and generous.
Day 10: Trek to Yak Kharka(4110m)
Our destination for the day is Yak Phedi. We follow our trail to Yak Phedi with the views of Annapurna II, III, IV and Gangapurna following us throughout our way. This can be one of the awesome days of our trek. Overnight at a guesthouse in Yak Kharka.
Day 11: Trek to Thorong Phedi(4450m)
Today, we head towards Thorong Phedi. As we pass Yak Kharka, our path rises slowly to the beautiful Thorong valley. Our trail further rises to base camp at Thorong Phedi. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Thorong Phedi.
Day 12: Trek to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass(5416m)
Today is the most exciting and adventurous journey of the day. We start our trek early in the morning at about 4 a.m. We ought to cross the Thorong La Pass late by 10 a.m. as the weather at that altitude is highly fluctuating. If late, the storm and wind may act as an obstacle to our journey. At Thorong La Pass, we are at the highest point of our trek i.e. 5416 meters. We pass Thorong La Pass to reach Muktinath. Muktinath is a holy destination for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. People believe that all your sorrows and grief will flee away after your journey to this place. Apart from its religious values, this is a wonderful site for the awe-inspiring mountain views.
Day 13: Trek to Marpha(2670m) via Kagbeni and Jomsom
Today, we descend down to Marpha via Kagbeni and Jomson. The popular Kali Gandaki gorge is the main attraction for the day. We follow the valley floor to Jomson which is stretched out to the banks of Kali Gandaki River on both sides. The view of Nilgiri peaks from this point is simply spectacular. From Jomson, we head to the popular Thakali village – Marpha. Marpha village is popular for the apples grown here. The lifestyle of people, their culture, and tradition are also another major attraction as it is influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture. Overnight at a guesthouse in Marpha.
Day 14: Trek to Ghasa(2010m)
Our trail descends down through a windy and dry area covered with rhododendron and pine forests to the village of Ghasa. Ghasa is yet another Thakali village that is popular for bird watching. The views of the mountains like Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri I, and Tukuche peak are simply phenomena. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Ghasa.
Day 15: Trek to Tatopani(1200m)
Today, we descend steeply until we reach a waterfall named Rupse Chahara. From this spot, our trails ascend slowly and pass through various settlements until we reach Tatopani. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tatopani.
Day 16: Leisure day in Tatopani
Today, we have leisure time in Tatopani to get rid of the exhilaration from the trekking journey. We can spend our time taking hot water baths. The natural hot water at Tatopani is considered an ailment for various illnesses and weaknesses. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tatopani.
Day 17: Trek to Ghorepani(2870m)
Today, our trail passes through different ethnic settlements inhabited by people of different ethnic groups. We pass various agricultural land, lush environments accompanied by the views of the great Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri throughout. We walk through the rhododendron forests to Ghorepani. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Ghorepani
Day 18: Hike to Poon Hill(3300m) and trek to Tikhedhunga
Today is yet another wonderful day of our trek. We wake up early in the morning and hike up to Poon Hill to admire the views of the mountains as the golden rays of the sun fall on the white glittering snow of the Annapurna massif. The sun rising amidst the mountains, birds chirping, hike to Poon hill can be one of the most relaxing moments throughout your journey. After beholding the beauty of Mt. Annapurna from Poon Hill, we descend down to Tikhedhunga. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Tikhedhunga.
Day 19: Trek to Nayapul
Today, we head to Nayapul. We descend down the terraced fields and villages, and cross a suspension bridge over Modi Khola to Nayapul. Overnight at a guesthouse in Nayapul.
Day 20: Sightseeing in Pokhara
Today can be the most awaited day if you have heard about the fascinating Pokhara city. Early in the morning, we drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. Our sightseeing tour starts with a walk on the lakeside mesmerizing the views of Annapurna and Fishtail Himal accompanied by a boat to the temple in between the lake. Then we head to Gupteshwor temple and then to David’s fall (waterfall). We wind up our sightseeing tour at the International Mountain Museum. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara
Day 21: Drive/ Fly back to Kathmandu
Today, we make our way back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 22: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. In the evening, you will be treated to authentic Nepalese cuisine as a farewell dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 23: Departure Day
Finally, it is time for us to bid you goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
