Mt. Kailash Tour via Gosaikunda Helambu Trek is a unique package offered by Himal Eco Treks that allows you to rejoice in the cultural and natural beauty of Nepal along with the natural ecstasy of Mt. Kailash via the Nepal China border at Kerung. It takes you to some charming places in the Lantang region like Helambu and Gosaikunda and then traverses into the Tibetan terrain to applaud the mystic glory of Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar lake. The trek along with its natural splendor has a holy touch. it includes some sacred places like Gosaikunda lake, Mt. Kailash, and Mansarovar lake. These places hold a high value amongst Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims as well as the old tradition of Bonpo.

Helambu valley is a beautiful valley that lies in the backdrop of the Langtang range. It is mostly inhabited by the people of the Sherpa and Tamang communities. Their culture and lifestyle resemble that of the Tibetan Buddhist culture and lifestyle. A walk through the valley can be an amazing way to get some insights on people, culture, and lifestyle. Similarly, Gosaikunda lake is a pious lake in the Langtang region. As per Hindu mythology, in the process of producing an elixir for eternal life, even poison was produced. So, Lord Shiva drank the poison in order to save the world. After drinking the poison, Lord Shiva couldn’t bear the burn, therefore, he struck his trident on the mountains to create springs and quench his thirst.

Mt. Kailash Tour via Gosaikunda Helambu Trek starts with a full day sightseeing tour around the UNESCO-listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. After the guided tour, we will be driven to Thangkre from where we start our walking journey. We walk along a lush trail and pass villages like Chipling, Ggul Bhangyang, Kautumang, and Tharepati on the way to Gosaikunda Phedi. We ascend up to Lauribinayak pass and cross the pass to Gosaikunda lake. The periphery around the lake is pleasing with views of azure lakes and mystic mountains on sight. Even Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar lake are considered to be the abode place of Lord Shiva as per Hindu mythology. Therefore, these places get a lot of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims yearly.

From Gosaikunda lake (4380m), we drop down to Chandanbari and then to Sabrubensi. At Sabrubensi, we catch the vehicle that will take us to Kerung (Nepal China Border). We fulfill the visa requirements and enter Tibet. We further drive via Saga until we reach Mansarovar lake. Upon arrival, we visit some monasteries around the lake. The views of Mansarovar lake with Mt. Kailash on the backdrop are spell bounding. We perform kora around the mountain and return back to Kathmandu via the same Kerung route. This would be a perfect trekking route with well acclimatize going over 5600m Dolmala Pass who are looking for going to Mt. Kailash.

What is the best time for Mt. Kailash Tour via Gosaikunda Helambu Trek?

In general, mid-April to June and mid-September to November is the best time to go for Helambu Gosaikunda Trek with Mt Kailash Tour. This trek can be operated even in July and August. But during this time, the trail in Nepal can be wet as the monsoon will already be started.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer with from airport to hotel. Afternoon at leisure and evening sightseeing/walking tour to Shayambhunath. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day guided tour including Pashupati and Boudhanath. Lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Chipling

After breakfast at hotel Jeep transfer to Thangkure (2hrs drive). First day of trekking. Hike from Thangkure to Chipling (2150 m). Lunch in Thangkure and dinner at lodge in Chipling. 2 to 3 hrs trekking.

Day 04: Kutunsang

Breakfast at the lodge. Hike from Chipling via Gul Bhangyang (2.180 m) to Kutumsang (2.520). Lunch break at the lodge in Gul Bhangyang. Dinner at the lodge in Kutumsang. 4 to 5 hrs trekking.

Day 05: Tharepati

Breakfast at the lodge. Hike from Kautumang via Mangengoth. Lunch in Mangegoth then to Thare Pati (3.500 m). Dinner at the lodge. 5 to 6hrs trekking.

Day 06: Ghopte Phedi

Breakfast at the lodge. Hike from Tharepati to Gosinkunda Phedi. Lunch at Ghopte and continue to Phedi (3650m). The zigzag trail from Tharepati to Phedi. Dinner at Lodge.

Day 07: Gosainkunda Lake

Early breakfast at the lodge and climb up to Lauribinayak pass (4610M) with lunch box. Cross the pass and trek down to Gosainkunda Lake( 4335M). Dinner at the lodge.

Day 08: Singgompa, Chandanbari.

Gosinkunda lake is one of the holiest lakes for Buddist and Hindu people. So Early morning a small trip hike around the lake for the good luck and back to lodge for the breakfast and after breakfast hike down via Lauribanayak to Chandanbari. (3335M) Lunch at Lauribanayk and Dinner at the lodge.

Day 09: Syabrubensi

Trek down to Syabrubensi via Thulo Sabru Goun. Lunch at Sabrugoun and continue trek down to Sabrubensi ( 2100M). Dinner at the lodge.

Day 10: Kyirong

Sabrubensi-Kyirongborder 18KM drive -Kyirongtown (2800Mts/ 35Km)Kyirong PuntsokRabsal Hotel on full-board.

Day 11: Saga

Kyirong-Saga(4640Mts/280Km). Overnight at Lodge with full board.

Day 12: Manasarovar Lake Turgu Gompa

Drive Saga to Manasrover lake Turgu gompa via Seralung, (4590Mts/405Km) Overnight at Guest house with full board.

Day 13: Chiu Gompa

Visit of Turgu Drive to Gusul Gompa then treks to Mansarovar (Chiu) 3 hrs trekking form Gusul to Chiu Gompa. Overnight at local lodges with full board.

Day 14: Thirtapuri

Drive to Thirthapuri about 2hrs (250KM). Vist of Tirthapuri caves and make a kora at Tirthapuri. Overnight at Guest House with full board

Day 15: Tholing

Drive to Tholing.3600m. (400km) Check in to Hotel. After small rest visit of Tholing monastery. Overnight at Hotel with full board

Day 16: Tholing

After breakfast a short drive to Tsaparang. Explore the Guge kingdom and Tsaparang village and evening back to Tholing. Overnight at Hotel with full board

Day 17: Darchen

Drive Tholing – Darchen 4590Mt (450Km) Overnight at Sun Moon guest house with full board

Day 18: Dirapuk

Start KailashKora, trek to Diraphuk( 5210Mt/18Km) 5 to 6 hrs. Overnight at Guest House with full board.

Day 19: Zutrulpuk

KailashKora -Dölma La –Zutrulphuk. (4810Km/15Km) 7 to 8 hrs. Overnight at the local Guesthouse with full board

Day 20: Manasarovar Lake

Trek back to Darchen drive to Lake Manasarovar, Seralung camp/ 4550mts. Overnight at Lodge with full board

Day 21: Saga

Drive from Manasarovar – Saga (4640Mt/435Km) Saga Norlin Hotel. Overnight at Hotel with full board

Day 22: Kyirong border

Drive Saga to Kyirong, (2800Mts/180Km.) KyirongPunstokRabsal Hotel. Overnight at Hotel with full board

Day 23: Kathmandu

Drive to Friendship bridge ( 20Km ) and then continue to Ktm. (1300Mts/150Km ) Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu

Day 24: Kathmandu

Free day for shopping or optional sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Evening farewell.
