Langtang Valley Trek 2021/2022is surprisingly one of the beautiful short treks in Nepal that showcases some impressive views of mountains, unique landscapes, biodiversity and provides some knowledgeable insights on Tamang culture and Tibetan Buddhist religion. Langtang valley, an important part of this trek is the finest gift that mother nature has for us in the surrounding majestic mountains and wild terrain that resembles that of the Tibetan plateaus. Did you know about the devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.8 on 25th April 2015 in Nepal? Langtang region was severely hit by the earthquake. There was not a single house that stood still. People were hopeless and homeless. Even after such a chaotic scenario, the region came back strong and powerful. New houses were built and people came out with the idea of sustainable earning. Now, you can witness the region more vibrant and beautiful.

The magnificent route to Langtang valley

Langtang Valley Trek 2021/2022 is a journey full of life, adventure, and fun. It starts with a short and scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. Syabrubensi is just 8 hours’ drive from the Kathmandu valley. From Syabrubensi, we climb up through the trail slowly and gradually. We walk past villages, farmlands, and lush forests to Lama Hotel. During the trek, you will be traversing through the premises of Langtang Conservation Area therefore do not get surprised if you catch a glimpse of some wildlife like monkeys, red panda, etc. From Lama Hotel, we make our way to Langtang village. The picturesque setting of mountains and the valley is inspiring. A hike up to Kynajin Ri and Kyanjin gompa offers some incredible views of mountains in the Langtang range. The touch of Tibetan Buddhist religion, Tamang culture, and the welcoming nature of locals make the trek an ideal trip for those looking for natural and cultural diversity.

Detail Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International airport in Nepal, a representative from Himal Eco Treks will pick you up and escort you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and the representative will brief you on the itinerary ahead. Enjoy your evening at the hotel.

Our day starts with a delicious breakfast at the hotel followed by a sightseeing tour around the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. At first, we visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square and then head towards Swayambhunath temple. Next, we head to Pashupatinath temple and conclude our sightseeing tour with a visit to Boudhanath stupa at Boudhanath. The day tour would be full of cultural and religious exploration. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we get set for a long drive to Syabrubensi. We jump into the ride and drive along a scenic route embracing the countryside landscape of Nepal. After thirty kilometers drive, we arrive at the pristine village of Syabrubensi along the bank of Trishuliriver. At Syabrubensi, we can catch some glimpse of mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other ranges in the Langtang region of Nepal. Overnight at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi

After an early breakfast, we get set for our trekking trip. Leaving Syabrubensi, we follow a trail that leads us to Lama Hotel. We walk slowly and gradually through the villages, farmland and forested area to Bamboo village. At the Bamboo village, we stop for lunch and rest for a while. Then we continue through the forested area to Lama Hotel. Traversing through the bamboo and rhododendron forests within the Langtang Conservation Area can be an opportunity to get of glimpse of birds and wildlife. So, do not get surprised if you see monkeys,squirrel, red pandas, bees, and chirping birds during the trek.Overnight at a guesthouse in Lama Hotel.

Today, we leave Lama Hotel and continue our walk through the rhododendron and pine forest to Ghoda Tabela. The path to Ghoda Tabela is easy and quite pleasing with the pristine environment all around. Ghoda Tabela is a Nepali word that translates horse stable in English. The literal meaning of Ghoda Tabela in English literature is horse stable. As we reach Ghoda Tabela, we stop for lunch and rest for a while exploring the mesmerizing surrounding around. After a while, we continue through our trail and keep walking for around three hours along a lush environment until we reach Langtang village. We stay at a guesthouse in Langtang village for the night.

Langtang village is a beautiful and charming village with warm people all around. We can enjoy the beautifully built houses and farmlands around the house as we pass through the village. From the village, our trail climbs up slowly until we open up to a yak pasture. From the pasture, we make a way to Laja Khola and cross the river. We then climb up a moraine from where we can get some fascinating views of Kyangin gompa with an icefall that flows from Langtang Lirung. Besides these, we will be blessed with some glorifying views of Ganjala, Langtang Lirung, Tserko Ri and Langsisa Ri. We continue through the trail until we reach Kyangjin Gompa. From the gompa, we hike up to Kyanjin Ri from where we can get more clear views of mountains, icefalls and much other wild landscape. In the evening, we return back to Kynajin gompa for an overnight stay.

Today, we wake up early and explore around the gompa. We then head towards the popular cheese factory. At the cheese factory, you can purchase some delicious cheese made up from yak milk. After the cheese factory, we make our way to Chokari Ri. We hike up to the Ri for the beautiful views of mountains and icefalls in the Langtang region of Nepal. As we reach the top of the Ri, we will be blessed with some mesmerizing views of mountains with Langtang village down below. Chokari Ri lies at an elevation of 5050 meters and this is the highest point of Langtang valley trek. After relishing the glory of Langtang ranges from the top, we make our way down to Kyangjin Gompa for the night.

After rejuvenating ourselves with the natural and cultural exploration at Langtang village, it’s time for us to embark on our return journey to Kathmandu. Today, we leave the Kyangin gompa and retrace our steps back along the same beautiful trail to Langtang village and then to Lama Hotel via Ghoda Tabela. We traverse through beautiful forests and continue our descent down to Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.

Moving forward with our steps back to Kathmandu, today, we leave Lama Gaon and walk through the beautiful forests of pine, rhododendron, and bamboo to Syabrubensi. We can relish the same beauty of nature and lushness in the environment on our return journey as well. Stay at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi for the night.

Today, we drive back along the same path from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu. The route is quite scenic which will captivate you throughout the day. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be escorted to your hotel. Check-in and stay at a hotel in Kathmandu for the night.

After the wonderful days of trekking with Himal Eco Treks, it’s time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead. Hope to see you again!

Essential Infos

Regarding your arrival
As you arrive at the airport in Kathmandu, you will have to pay the Visa charges to enter into Nepal. Two passport size photos are necessary for this purpose.

Your guide will be there at the airport to pick you up and escort you to the hotel for check-in. After a bit of refreshment, your guide will explain your itinerary and your plan ahead.

Accommodation
We offer you the best accommodations possible. The rooms will be clean, comfortable and homely. In Kathmandu, you will stay at a hotel with deluxe rooms. During the trek, you will stay in the best guesthouses or lodges. Generally, accommodation during the trek in guesthouses is on sharing basis. However, the rooms are clean, comfortable and the warm welcome of the people in the guesthouses will make you feel greeted and homely.

Meals and Drinking water facility
The meals during the trek are included in the package that we offer. The meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the trek. Other snacks and personal preference items are not included in our package.

Currency Exchange
If you want to exchange your currency with the Nepalese currency, you can exchange it at the counters in the airport. It is reliable when you exchange the currency through banks or other certified money exchangers. You can find the exchange rate for the day on the website of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is highly recommended as it is for your own safety and security. Our package doesn’t include the cost of travel insurance. You are responsible for your travel insurance.

Import and Export during the travel
You can import some duty-free items prescribed by the Customs Act in Nepal. You can bring a 1.15ml bottle of distilled liquor, 200 cigarettes, and 50 cigars. Also, you can also bring a laptop, video camera, binoculars and other portable items that are essential to you. In case of export, it is prohibited to carry the paintings, manuscripts or other things of cultural importance which carries over 100 years of history. In case you purchase any kind of statues of paintings, you need to verify it at the Department of Archaeology before export.

High altitude sickness
Many people suffer from high altitude sickness while they opt out for trekking in high altitude regions. There might be various causes of high altitude sickness. It may be due to the lack of your body endurance or due to lack of proper acclimatization and many more, Therefore, one needs to be alert about the possible risks. Himal Eco Treks (HET) team always carries a first aid tool with them in case of emergencies. However, it is recommended for you to keep the knowledge of high altitude sickness.
