The pristine air, beautiful valleys, verdant forests, meadows, traditional villages, and snow-clad mountains; Ganesh Himal Trek 2021/2022 is an opportunity to hike through the rural landscape of Nepal and to meet local folks who reflect their own unique culture, custom, tradition and lifestyle. Ganesh Himal, the name Ganesh comes after the name of the legendary elephant-headed Hindu God – Lord Ganesh. Ganesh Himal comprises of four peaks – Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III and Ganesh IV that stand out like snow-clad crystals forming a great Himalayan chain dominating the skyline.

Situated in between Langtang and Manaslu region, Ganesh Himal Trek is an amazing adventure through some of the wonderful and marvelous landscapes of Nepal. The region as a whole is still unexplored and remote hence is home to various species of floras and faunas. Different kinds of wild species of flowers, plants, animals, birds, and butterflies inhabit the rich eco system of this place. Enhanced with the astounding peaks of the Ganesh Himal range, Manaslu range, Annapurna range, Langtang range, and some Tibetan range, the trek allows you to embrace the flawless beauty of hills, forests, waterfalls, rivers, mountain cliffs, and amazing rock formations. A walk through the traditional village is an opportunity to know about local folks, their culture, and lifestyle which is very different than the people in modern world. People in this region are basically engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. They live a very simple life within the tranquility of mother nature.

Ganesh Himal Trek 2021/2022 starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. After an insightful guided tour around the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu, you will be driven to Syabrubensi which us the real commencement point of the trek. We drive past various countryside scenery of Nepal through a narrow and bumpy road to Syabrubensi. From here, we follow a trail that leads us to Langtang National Park. Our permits will be checked here and after showing our permits we enter into the park and head towards Galtang via Chawatar. With the traditional villages, forests, rivers, and long suspension bridges, the trail is a delight. We climb up from Galtang to a pond popular as Parvati Kunda. It is a holy lake from a religious perspective. Further, we walk ahead through a rich mines section of Somdang to Pangsang Pass. The pass at an elevation of 3842 meters is the highest point of the trek. We cross the pass enjoying some admirable views of mountains and descend down to Tipling. Leaving Tipling, the trail passes through the lush meadows to Chalish village. From the village, we climb up to ThuloDhunga and then to NojetKharka which is the base camp of the great Ganesh Himal. After beholding the fascinating views of mountains from the base camp, we descend down to Tripura via Khadinggaon and Ganga Jamuna to end our trek.

Detail Itinerary

As you land in the Tribhuwan International airport and come out of the arrival terminal after completing the immigration formalities, a representative from Himal Eco Trek will pick you up and drive you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in the hotel and the representative will brief you about your itinerary ahead. Stay at the hotel and relax to energize yourself for your days ahead in Nepal. Overnight in Kathmandu

After breakfast at the hotel, a tour guide from Himal Eco Treks will pick you up for a sightseeing tour around the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. You will be escorted to the historical and religious sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa. You can explore the sites and get some unique insights on art, culture and history of Nepal. The sightseeing tour in Kathmandu is a superb combo of art, culture, history and diverse religion prevalent in Nepal. Meanwhile, we will arrange for your trekking permit. If you have any last minute shopping left for trekking, you can buy them today. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, we prepare for our drive to Betrawati. We jump on our drive that will take us through a scenic highway road towards Trishuli bazaar. With wonderful views of a countryside landscape, hills, farmlands, and mountains on the way, we reach Betrawati. We stay at tented camps in Betrawati for the night

Leaving Betrawati, we start our walk through an easy and gentle trail. The trail passes through various terraced farmlands, crop fields and local villages on the way to Kipsang. Kipsang is a charming village inhabited by Tamang people in the region. They are traditional people who depend upon farming for livelihood. If interested, we can interact with a few local folks on the way. We stay at tented camps in Kipsang for the night

Today, we leave the village of Kipsang and ascend up slowly through the local village inhabited by Tamang people. Exploring their rural lifestyle and local culture, we walk pass the schools, monasteries, and waterfalls on the way to ThuloChaur. We set up our tented camps on the ground of ThuloChaur for the night

Today, after breakfast, we ascend up steeply through the dense forests of pine and rhododendron. The jungle that we pass today is full of wildlife in it. Various species of wildlife like deer. langur monkey, wild boar, etc has been noticed in this region. We pass through these forests enriched with wild species and climb up to Gonga. We stay at tented camps in Gonga for the night

From the Gonga, we follow a trail that climbs up steeply through the dense forests of rhododendron and oak with spectacular views of mountains on sight. The walk for the day is delightful with some breathtaking views of mountains in the great Himalayan chain and Tibetan range. We stay at tented camps in Rupchet for the night

After breakfast in Rupchet, we climb up steep towards Shing La pass. It’s a tiring walk up to the pass but the walk is really worth it. From the top, one can enjoy some stunning views of mountains like Ganesh Himal, LangtangHimal, ManasluHimal and many other mountains in the backdrop. After relishing some reviving views of mountains from the top, we descend down steep to the Kharka. We set up our tented camps in Kharka for the night

The journey for the day goes steep down through the terraced farmlands and few isolated villages to the village of Borang. Borang is a beautiful Tamang village that offers some majestic views of mountains. Today, we set up our tented camps in the village of Borang for the night.

From Borang, we walk across the terraced farmlands on a flat trail to the village of Jharlang. On the way, we pass various villages inhabited by people from Tamang communities. It’s a wonderful day walk along with the lush and pristine environment to Jharlang. It’s also an opportunity to know about people, their culture and lifestyle. Today, we set up our tented camps in the village of Jharlang for the night.

We take a sharp descend down through the traditional and local villages to KintangPhedi. It’s a jovial day walk along with the lush countryside landscapes with stunning views of mountains accompanying you throughout the way. Tonight at the tented camps in KintangPhedi

It’s an extra day in Kathmandu city. you can utilize the day on your own. If you want to go to some specific places, you can inform us or you can walk around the streets of Kathmandu for shopping activities. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu

Finally, it is time for us to bid you goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
