Chulu west peak climbing is an adventurous climbing journey to one of the most preferred peaks in
the Annapurna region of Nepal. The views of the mountains like Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna,
Manaslu, Tilicho, and many other peaks from the height of 6419m is magnificent. As you climb up the
Chulu West peak, you will achieve the heights of 6419m. Hence, the feeling of being on the top of a peak will be surreal. The ascend from the foothills of Annapurna lets you experience variety in landscape as you hike up to alpine vegetation through lush forests from plain land vegetation. You can also encounter the unique floras and faunas as you pass along your way.

Talking about the requirements for Chulu West peak climbing, it is technically less challenging and you
will require moderate level of fitness. Previous climbing experience is not a necessity however it will add
up to your climbing journey. Even though you don’t not have any prior experience of climbing but know how to use crampons, ice axes and ropes then you are qualified to climb chulu west peak.

Detail Itinerary

You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last minute preparation for your trek if necessary.

Today, we drive to Jagat through Besisahar. Our drive to Jagat would be a awesome with scenery all around. The view of the countryside, beautiful landscape along with lush and beautiful environment would be our attraction for today. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Jagat.

Today, we start our trekking journey and follow our trail to Dharapani. Our trail climbs up as we head to Chamje. We pass a beautiful waterfall and a suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi river. We follow our trail along Marsyandi River and ascend up to Tal. Our trail from Tal is quite rocky. However, we cross the valley and continue our walk until we reach Dharapani. We stop at a guesthouse in Dharapani for an overnight halt.

Today, our trail climbs up to the heights of 2630m to Chame. From Dharapani, we climb up and pass a forest to Chame. Chame is the head quarter of Manang district which is well known for its stunning views of Annapurna panorama. Overnight at a guesthouse in Chame.

Our trekking journey starts will a walk through the forest. On our way, we cross two bridges after which we catch a glimpse of rock flank. The rock flanks are actually of Paungda Danda. From this point, we continue our journey further to Pisang. Enjoy your dinner at a guesthouse in Pisang.

Have you heard about the magnificence of Manang valley? Yes! It’s our destination for today. Leaving Pisang, we continue our trail through yak herds and some settlements to beautiful Manang valley. Overnight at a guesthouse in Manang valley.

Today is our free day in Manang valley set aside for acclimatization. You can wander around the villages and capture the glimpse of mountains or hike to Ice lake or Gangapurna tea shop for awe inspiring mountain views. Also, you can get some insights about the lifestyle and culture of the people in this region. The ethnic people living in this region are extremely warm and generous. Overnight at a guesthouse in Manang valley.

We continue our journey through the alpine forest and high altitude vegetation. We ascend up to Yak Kharka and continue till we reach Ledar. Leaving Ledar, we ascend up to Chulu West Base Camp. Overnight at a tented camp in Chulu West Base Camp.

We rest at Chulu West Base camp to acclimatize ourselves with the high altitude. We spend the day wandering around the camp with superb views of Annapurna Himal, Dhaulagiri Himal, Nilgiri, Gangapurna and many more. Overnight at a tented camp in Chulu West Base Camp.

We leave Chulu base Camp and ascend up to the high camp. The route is not that technical however we may have to use our climbing equipment. Our climb for the day is straight forward and comparatively easy that climbing other technically difficult peaks. Overnight at a tented camp in Chulu West High Camp.

This a day set aside in case of any contingency. If you could not climb the summit of Chulu East Peak in day 11 due to any unforeseen circumstances, we can climb the peak today.

Today is the most important day of our journey. We start climbing the Chulu West peak early in the morning to avoid the stormy weather in the afternoon. We use our equipment like rope, axe, etc. and follow for expedition leader to the top of the summit. The views of the mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Gangapurna and others from the top is mind blowing. After achieving the heights, we descend down to Ledar. Overnight at a guesthouse in Ledar.

Leaving Manang, we head towards Thorong La Phedi We follow our trail to Yak Phedi with the views of Annapurna II, III, IV and Gangapurna on backdrop. From Yak Kharka, our path rises slowly to the beautiful Thorong valley. From the valley, we further climb up to base camp at Thorong Phedi. Overnight at a guesthouse in Thorong Phedi.

Today is an exciting and adventurous day. We start our trek early in the morning at about 4 a.m. We ought to cross the Thorong La Pass late by 10 a.m. as the weather in that altitude is highly fluctuating. If late, the storm and wind may act as an obstacle to our journey. At Thorong La Pass, we are at the highest point of our trek i.e. 5416 metres. We pass Thorong La Pass to reach Muktinath. Muktinath is a holy destination to both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. People believe that all your sorrows and grief will flee way after your journey to this place. Apart from its religious values, this is a wonderful site for the awe inspiring mountain views. Overnight at a guesthouse in Muktinath.

Today, we descend down to Jomson via Kagbeni. The popular Kali Gandagi gorge is the main attraction for the day. We follow the valley floor to Jomson which is stretched out to banks of Kali Gandaki River on both sides. The view of Nilgiri peaks from this point is spectacular. Overnight at a guesthouse in Jomson.

We take an early flight to Pokhara. You can utilize remaining part of the day resting or being involved in other adventure activities. You can also opt for sightseeing tour to some spectacular places like lakeside, Gupteshwor temple, David’s fall (water fall) and International Mountain Museum. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara

Today, we make our way back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
