Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a beautiful journey where you can relish the splendor of some breathtaking landscapes at its finest! Jomsom Muktinath Trek takes you all the way up to Muktinath via world’s deepest gorge – Kali Gandaki gorge. On the way, you pass a steep and rocky trail with barren almost no tree landscape. Muktinath is a popular pilgrimage site in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is a spiritual hub for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims around the world. Apart from its religious value, the place is known for the striking views of mountains that it offers. You will be blessed with the charismatic beauty of mountains in Annapurna range which includes Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Tukuche peak and many other peaks.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek initiates with a sightseeing tour to the UNESCO listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu. After exploring the art, culture, and history of Nepal in the UNESCO listed World Heritage sites in Kathmandu, we take a drive along the Trishuli River to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we further drive to Nayapul from where we initiate our actual trekking journey. Leaving Nayapul, we pass the farmlands, villages and ethnic settlements on the way and hike up through the lush rhododendron forests to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a small village that offers fantastic views of mountains in abundance. After relishing the glamorous beauty of Annapurna range from Ghorepani, we hike up to Poonhill for mesmerizing views of the sunrise amidst the snow-clad mountains in Annapurna range. We further descend down to Ghasa and pass Tukuche and Kagbeni to Muktinath. Finally, we walk down to Jomsom and conclude the journey with a flight back to Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
After your breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick you up from the hotel for a guided sightseeing tour. Admire the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath stupa. It is an opportunity to learn about art, history, and culture of Nepal in an authentic manner. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara
Wake up early and get ready for your breakfast. After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to a drive that will take you to Pokhara. A six to seven hours drive along the highway will lead you to the lakeside city – Pokhara. The drive along the highway is full of beautiful scenery. You will be driving along the Trishuli river for most of the time. The lush hills, rivers, countryside villages are some of the appealing things that you will be able to view from your window pane during the drive. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. If you are not tired, you can go for a walk along the lakeside in the evening. Spend your night at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we set out for a trekking journey ahead. We take an early drive to Nayapul from where we initiate our actual trekking journey. We begin our walk along the foothills of Annapurna massif and pass various farmlands and villages to Tikhedhunga. We stop at a guesthouse in Tikhedhunga for the night.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani
Today, we leave Tikhedhunga and start our journey ahead towards the village of Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a beautiful village known for the spectacular views of mountains it offers. Our walk for the day is very pleasing as we will be walking in a pristine environment with lushness all around. The views of mountains in the backdrop add to the glory of the walking into this Himalayan region. We walk for five to six hours today. We stop at a guesthouse in Ghorepani for the night.
Day 6: Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani
Poonhill is a popular vantage point in Annapurna region of Nepal known for the beautiful views of mountains and glorious views of sunrise and sunset it offers. Early in the morning, we hike up to Poonhill to catch a glimpse of sunrise amidst the Annapurna massif. The golden rays of sun amidst the Annapurna ranges look awesome. From the viewpoint in Poonhill, we will be blessed with the magnificence of mountains like Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Annapurna South, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Macchapucchre and many more. After enjoying the beauty of the mountains from Poonhill, we descend down to Tadapani. We stop at a guesthouse in Tadapani for the night.
Day 7: Trek to Ghasa
Today, we leave Tadapani and make our way towards the Kali Gandaki valley which is the deepest gorge in the world. As we walk down to the valley and move ahead along the Kali Gandaki river, we will be blessed with the outstanding views of the wild landscape around. We cross a high suspension bridge over Bhalu Khola before arriving Dana. At Dana, we can relish the stunning view of Rupse Chhahara, a beautiful waterfall. As we get deeper into the Kali Gandaki valley, we reach a beautiful village of Gasa. Gasa is an ethnic village inhabited by people of the Thakali community. As you enter the village, you can see the influence of Tibetan Buddhist religion prevalent in that area. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Ghasa.
Day 8: Trek to Tukuche
Leaving Gasa, we move ahead and cross rivers many times on the way. Further, we pass many ethnic settlements on the way enjoying the dramatic views of mountains and arid landscape. Today, we can get a quick view of Dhaulagiri Mountain on our way. We continue our journey for the day along the valley until we reach Tukuche. Today, we stay at a guesthouse in Tukuche for the night.
Day 9: Trek to Kagbeni
Moving forward with the journey, we walk through a pleasing path today. We pass the village of Khobang and Marpha to Kagbeni. On the way, we visit Kanti gompa and enjoy the fantastic views of villages, mountains, and appealing landscapes. Marpha village is popular for the apple orchards and the local wine and brandy. At Marpha, you can purchase some apples and wine/brandy. From Marpha, we further walk ahead and continue our walk along the Kaligandaki river to Kagbeni. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Kagbeni
Day 10: Trek to Muktinath
Today we leave Kagbeni and ascend up to Muktinath. As we leave Kagbeni, we walk through Khingar and pass Jharkot which is an impressive place owing to its fort like structure. We further ascend up through the trail until we reach Muktinath which is a popular pilgrimage site in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Muktinath temple holds a high value amongst the Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The place is not just popular for the religious value it holds but for the spectacular views of mountains that it offers. As you reach the place, you will be blessed with the striking views of Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Tukuche peak and many other peaks. We stay at a guesthouse in Muktinath for the night.
Day 11: Trek to Jomsom
Today, we descend down from Muktinath and walk along a beautiful trail to Jomsom. Jomsom is a popular town in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is well known for the hostile behavior of people residing there. One can get a lavishing treatment in the guesthouse of Jomsom. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Jomsom
Day 12: Fly to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu
Today we take an early flight to Pokhara which is followed by another flight back to Kathmandu. You also have a choice to drive back to Kathmandu via a scenic route along Prithvi highway. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 13: Free day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. In the evening, you will be treated with an authentic Nepalese cuisine as a farewell dinner. Overnight in the hotel
Day 14: Farewell
Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
