Trip Overview

The Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Trek is a popular and challenging trekking route in the Everest region of Nepal. It combines two of the most iconic destinations in the region, offering stunning views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, as well as unique cultural experiences.

The trek typically takes around 16-18 days and involves acclimatization days to help hikers adjust to the high altitude. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and spectacular mountain landscapes.

Some of the highlights of the Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Trek include the Khumbu Glacier, the Gokyo Lakes, the Cho La Pass, and the Kala Patthar viewpoint. You’ll also have the chance to visit the Everest Base Camp, where climbers gather to begin their ascent to the summit.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport
You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last minute preparation for your trek if necessary.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding(2610m)
Today, we initiate our trekking journey with an absolutely amazing flight to Lukla. Endure the awesomeness of being parallel to sky dominating peaks with a wonderful landscape beneath! As we arrive Lukla, we make our way along the Dudhkoshi river to Phakding via Cheplung village. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Phakding.
Day 4: Trek to Namche(3440m)
Today, we head to one of the happening towns in the Everest region – Namche Bazaar. At first we pass village of Jorsale and enter the Sagarmatha National park. The backdrop of the beautiful mountains in Everest region, mani stone and carved walls with prayers, everything during our trek is simply outstanding. You will pass some not so pleasing trail on the way, however, the unique flora and fauna along with the excitement of crossing long suspension bridge in the way will keep you alive. Overnight stay at Namche.
Day 5: Acclimatization in Namche(3438m)
Today, we spend our day in Namche itself as this day is set aside for acclimatization. Marching forward without proper acclimatization may lead to altitude sickness. Therefore, today, we wander around the joyful village of Namche and hike up to Everest View Hotel with Synagboche Arport on the way. The views of the mountains from Everest View Hotel is fabulous. You can enjoy your sip of tea or coffee enjoying the awesome views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Thamserku, etc. The museum and photo gallery on our way back is also another attraction of the day. Overnight stay at Namche.
Day 6: Trek to Dole(4040m)
Today, we walk an easy path up to Kyangjuma. From this point, climb up steeply. Though the steep path is tiresome, the lush rhododendron and juniper forest that we cross along the way makes our journey worth it. As we move forward, we come across various high pastures and settlements. The yak grazing and the lifestyle of Sherpa people is something you will enjoy throughout. Not to forget, the awesome views of mountains throughout your way. Overnight halt at Dole.
Day 7: Trek to Macchermo(4400m)
Today, we climb up steep through juniper forest to Macchermo. Macchermo has its own importance. It is said that in 1974, Yeti had killed three yaks and attacked a woman at this place. Overnight at a guesthouse in Macchermo.
Day 8: Trek to Gokyo lakes(5000m)
Today, we climb up a ridge for the excellent views of the nature ahead of you and beneath you. The glorious view of the valley that you left behind and the fantastic view above towards Cho-yu. We walk through the ravine of Chola Pass and Renjala pass to Gokyo Lake. On our left we will find the glorious Ngazumpa glacier. After a few hours walk, we reach Gokyo village which would be ours halting destination for the night.
Day 9: Hike to Gokyo Ri(5357m)
Today’s morning is a special morning of our entire trek as we wake up and hike up to Gokyo Ri to admire the sunrise above the mountains with the beautiful view of azure mountains and beautiful valley. The views of mountains like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Thamserku and Kusum Kangaroo is spell bounding. In the evening, we walk down to Gokyo village for overnight halt.
Day 10: Gokyo Lake to Dragnak(4700m)
Today, we head towards Dragnak, the foot of the Chola Pass. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Dragnak.
Day 11: Trek to Dzongla(15, 939 ft)
Today we trail climbs uphill until we cross Chola Pass, Our trail climb up up to Chola Pass Base camp up to which the trail is comparatively easy, But as we climb up the rocky path, we will find our way tougher than ever. However, the views of the mountains from the pass is worth the toughness. From the highest point, we drop down to the village of Dzongla. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dzongla.
Day 12: Trek to Lobuche(4940m)
Today we walk from Dzongla to Lobuche. Our trail today is comparatively easy. Our trail continues along the moraine of glacier with the views of Kalapattar and Mt. Pumori. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Lobuche.
Day 13: Trek to Everest Base Camp(5364m)
Today, we head to our ultimate destination – The Everest Base Camp. We march slowly from Lobuche to Evereat Base Camp via Goreshep. We can see some colourful prayer flags and stones piled up as we reach the Everest Base Camp. The moment in Everest Base camp can be one of the best feeling you have ever had and you will ever have. Rejoice your time in the Base Camp. Overnight halt near the Everest Base Camp.
Day 14: Hike to Kalapattar(5545m)
Today is yet another beautiful day that you will rejoice for ever and ever. We hike up to Kalapattar for the close up views of the mountains in the Everest region. The golden rays of the sun glittering in the White Mountain snow, you would surely wish for the time to freeze there, at that moment. The awesome views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam and many more standing tall one after the other, you couldn’t have asked for anything more. Overnight stay at the Everest Base Camp.
Day 15: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3440m)
Today, we start our journey back from the top of the world. We walk down to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 16: Trek to Lukla
Today, we stroll down to Lukla. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu
Today, we head back to the capital city – Kathmandu, the place from where we started our journey. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 18: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 19: Departure Day
Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.

  • All the road transport along with pick up and drop at the airport upon your arrival and departure.
  • Accommodation for 4 nights spent at the hotel in Kathmandu inclusive of breakfast at the hotel.
